Rory Gallagher reappears with his usual fast-paced rock

The Palau Blaugrana 2 welcomes tonight one of the great rock guitarists, the mythical Rory Gallagher, an old acquaintance of the Barcelona public, who has already demonstrated on several occasions the category of his music and his energetic way of interpreting it.

The veteran and mythical Rory Gallagher, one of the best and most energetic rock and blues guitarists and singers, will perform live tonight at the Palau Blaugrana 2, before the Barcelona public, which has already had the opportunity on three visits earlier to check the quality and vitality of the music of this Irish artist.

……..Rory did nothing but increase his prestige and success, both in the recording field and live, which is where this artist best expresses his talent and his ability to convey emotions, as can be seen on his recorded albums live: Live in Europe and Irish Tour 74.

However, Rory, an artist faithful to his roots who still has and plays the same battered Fender guitar with which he began his career, has evolved little in the eighties and has not wanted to give in and launch into more commercial paths, as Eric Clapton has done, and has preferred to maintain the purity of his energetic rock and his emotional ballads and blues.

Although not a rising musician, Rory remains a legendary guitarist, a great singer and a virtuoso on the harmonica.

In Barcelona, Rory Gallagher has performed on three previous occasions. The first, in the mid-1970s, was at the Palau d’Esports and he demonstrated his ability when, despite a power failure, he kept the atmosphere going by singing without a microphone and playing acoustic guitar. Shortly after, he reappeared on the same stage with greater success. His third visit was in February 1979 and he offered a memorable concert at the Pabellón del Joventut in Badalona. Now he comes with the same energy as always, a band made up of Brendan O´Neil, Mark Feltham and the usual Gerry McAvoy, and a new album still unreleased in Spain.
