RORY GALLAGHER – ROAD RUNNER

Like Metallica, Rory Gallagher is one of the rare musicians capable of touring sold out without warning and without the slightest album to promote. That is, however, the only point of comparison that you will find between James Hetfield’s group and the Irish guitarist, although Rory has a pronounced taste for rock while continuing to loyally defend his version of the blues!

Since he announced his return to the stage, Gallagher has been awash in concert offers all over Europe (he will be in France again in December), which has given him the idea of recording his next album in a mobile studio. As his brother-manager Donal,  “It will not be a live album. Rory will take advantage of the balance to record new titles before the audience arrive to see him play.”

In terms of reeditions, we anxiously await the laser disc version of Deuce and above all Photo Finish, which contains the incredible ‘Shadow Play’. All the other Irishman’s albums are already available, but the guitarist refused to let these two be released without remixing them himself beforehand. In terms of Photo Finish, he only moderately appreciated the production of Dieter Dierks (Scorpions, Twisted Sister…) and we understand why
